The LapDogs Cycling Club is interested in helping to get more youth into cycling.

Our cycling club has a history of helping to inspire kids on bikes…

Youth Funding Program, 2025.

The LapDogs Cycling Club has always had its eye on the future of the sport of cycling and youth fitness. We take great pride in knowing that one of the kids who participated in our club several years ago (Axel Froner) is now racing professionally in Europe.

For 2025 we wanted to take it up a notch. If you have a youth race team, run or organize youth races, or you are involved in a cycling program for kids and youth, we want to help… and we want to hear from you.

Thanks to the generosity of former club member Rob “Coach” MacEwen, we are fortunate enough to be able to invest in that future.

To explain, Rob coached many members of LapDogs Cycling Club and Race Team from 2018 to 2024. He charged a nominal fee for his coaching, with the stipulation that these fees go directly into a fund intended to support youth racers / cyclists. It’s now time for us to spend these modest funds. But how should we spend it? Well, you tell us.

We are looking for funding proposals from local race organizers, race teams and youth development / cycling focused programs. We want to learn about your program, what you do, how you do it, and specifically how a donation from the LDCC would help. All we ask in return is a teeny little LDCC logo on your event banner, team jersey, website etc.

Our Youth Funding Committee (a.k.a. the “Proud Cycling Dad Committee” - Barry Cox, Chris Robinson and Andrew Ahern) would be pleased to receive YOUR proposal on or before March 31, 2025.

Please submit your proposal via the form below:

Should you have any questions, please email them to: youth@lapdogs.ca

This new program is very much inspired by Rob “Coach” MacEwen, (upper left) who was instrumental in helping us raise funds to be earmarked for Youth Development
