FatBike Racing at Albions Hills… and the LDCC is off to a great start for the 2020 Race Season.

Fatbikers are an odd bunch. Rather than riding on Zwift or going to spin class when the weather turns nasty, they bundle up and head for the great outdoors on their balloon-tired bikes, no matter how inclement the weather might be. And they have a blast!
Case in point: The Albion Hills 45NRTH Fatbike Festival, presented by our good friends at Substance Projects this past Saturday at Albion Hills Conservation Area. As of the middle of last week, there was a nice base of packed snow on the trails -perfect for fatbike racing. However, due to what can only be described as a biblical amount of rain the night before the race, these trails were, as of race day, to thick sticky mud, crunchy corn snow, deep puddles and ice. Lots of ice. Rather than head off to Watopia, London or New York, 75 brave souls took at stiff dose of HTFU came out to race, including a small yet determined squad from the #LapDogs Cycling Club/Race Team. A great (albeit epic) time was had by (almost) all and The Pack acquitted themselves well, with a strong showing in the results in including three podiums:
