Many of you may be new to the world of group rides. Have no fear. It’s fun, and an amazing feeling to be riding together. Learning to do this safely and with consideration to the welfare of your fellow riders is of the utmost importance. Whether you are an experienced rider with thousands of miles under your legs or a raw rookie, if you have never participated in a group ride you need to understand the dynamics and responsibilities of riding in a group.
Riding in a group brings with it a whole new set or rules, etiquettes and responsibilities.
It is very important that should you want to join in our various Club Road Rides, you first have a thorough understanding of what you need to be aware of.

In the Spring of 2004, the LapDogs Cycling Club was officially formed to offer a small group of cyclists an opportunity to get together for regular rides. The Club Mandate was to provide social group rides, teach members cycling skills, and encourage participation in grassroots racing.
Our first season was a smash success and has resulted in continued growth and expansion.
Fast-forward a few years and what began as a small group of like-minded individuals has developed into a volunteer run organization with a full Executive Board offering a complete schedule of Road, MTB rides and assorted cycling events. Never losing focus on being a very inclusive group for riders of all levels, the Club continues to satisfy the overwhelming interest and support first gained back in 2004.
The LapDogs Cycling Club Mandate remains the key to this success - to assist, motivate and provide opportunities for our members [novice, intermediate & advanced] as they continue to improve their skills, get fit and have fun. |

LapDogs Cycling Club is all about riding with people we like on trails and roads we love. Volunteer run and organized, our club rides focus on riding together, having fun and connecting with new people who share our passion for riding. Rides range from social Sunday MTB Rides with post-ride snacks to quick Road Rides out of Duke’s Cycle, our local shop, to participation in many of Southern Ontario's most popular Cycling Events and Races.
Regardless of your ability or ambition you’ll find a social, fun-loving pack that suits your style with the LapDogs Cycling Club. Our Rides are designed to be social in nature [no matter the level] and we practice a "nobody gets left behind" policy.
