Whether you are a novice, intermediate or a seasoned veteran, our experienced Ride Guides will be sure to introduce you to the world of Group Road and Mountain Bike Rides, in and around greater Toronto and Southern Ontario.
Our Rides are organized and planned according to Rider Skill Levels:

LapDogs - Road Rides
The Latte Ride [Rookie]; Easy-going pace (average speed 20-25km/hr) for all levels of rider
• Weekend rides 40-80k with a leisurely stop for coffee/snacks
• Emphasis on fun, socializing, learning and practicing basic group riding skills, and improv-
ing overall cycling strength & fitness
• Basic level of fitness expected (even if new to cycling, some aerobic fitness is expected from
other activities such as swimming, running, skiing, spinning, etc.)
• Offered primarily on Sunday mornings and/or sometimes on Saturday mornings
The Americano Ride [Domestique]; Steady pace (average speed 25-30km/hr)
• Intended for experienced group riders looking to further develop fitness and skills
• Expectation is that riders have already mastered strong group riding skills and exhibit safe
road riding behaviour
The Espresso* Ride [Sportif]; Steady quick pace (average speed 30-35+km/hr) characterized by some spirited riding
• Intended for riders looking to further push their limits, racers, and those considering racing
• An opportunity to practice advanced group riding techniques
• Safe group riding behavior is expected
Women’s Only Road Rides
• Steady pace (average speed 25-30+km/hr)
• Group works and stays together as a unit
• Intended for women looking for additional support on the road & camaraderie of fellow
female riders
• Routes 60-120k, some routes start outside of the city
• Offered once or twice a month on weekends
LapDogs - Mountain Bike Rides
Rookie [Blood]; Easy going ride for all levels of riders
• Relatively slow pace and non-technical terrain. Ride will not exceed 2 hours
• Emphasis on fun, socializing, learning and practicing basic group riding skills, and improving overall skills & fitness
• Basic level of fitness expected (even if new to cycling, some aerobic fitness is expected from
other activities such as swimming, running, skiing, spinning, etc.)
• Rides will be offered on Saturdays or Sundays and the frequency will be determined according to demand
Domestique [Sweat]; Steadier pace for intermediate riders.
• Technical terrain and challenges depending on the location of the ride. Ride could exceed 2 hours but there will be opportunities to leave the trails system at some point for those who want a shorter ride. A few stops during the ride to regroup and refuel.
• Intended for experienced riders looking to further develop fitness and skills. Those rides will still be fun and there will be possibilities to practice skills on technically challenging terrain.
• Expectation is that riders have already mastered good riding skills and can keep a steady pace.
Sportif [Tears]; Faster steady pace for fit and experienced riders.
• Pace and terrain will likely be very challenging. Ride will likely exceed 2 hours with very few stops.
• Intended for riders looking to further push their limits, racers, and those considering racing.
Women’s Only MTB Ride; We are currently working on the women’s MTB program. Frequency will be determined according to demand.
LapDogs - Road Rides 
 
The Latte Ride (Rookie, Recreational, Recovery); Like the drink suggests, these rides are smooth, gentle and relaxing. An easy-going pace (average speed 20-25km/hr) for all levels of rider.
  • Weekend rides 40-80k with a leisurely stop for coffee/snacks
  • Emphasis on fun, socializing, learning and practicing basic group riding skills, and improv-ing overall cycling strength & fitness
  • Basic level of fitness expected (even if new to cycling, some aerobic fitness is expected fromother activities such as swimming, running, skiing, spinning, etc.)
  • Offered primarily on Sunday mornings and/or sometimes on Saturday mornings
The Americano Ride (Intermediate); A spirited ride, but watered down just enough to take the harshness out. A steady pace (average speed 25-30km/hr)
  • Intended for experienced group riders looking to further develop fitness and skills
  • Expectation is that riders have already mastered strong group riding skills and exhibit saferoad riding behaviour
The Espresso Ride (Advanced); Fully caffeinated with lots of adrenaline. A steady quick pace (average speed 30-35+km/hr) characterized by some spirited riding. 
  • Intended for riders looking to further push their limits, racers, and those considering racing
  • An opportunity to practice advanced group riding techniques
  • Safe group riding behaviour is expected
Women’s Only Road Rides; Steady pace (average speed 20-30+km/hr)

LapDogs - Mountain Bike Rides
 
Blood (Rookie, Recreational, Recovery); Because you're learning and may be new to the world of off-road cycling - expect a few scrapes and bruises to the ego. An easy going ride for all levels of riders
  • Relatively slow pace and non-technical terrain. Ride will not exceed 2 hours
  • Emphasis on fun, socializing, learning and practicing basic group riding skills, and improving overall skills & fitness
  • Basic level of fitness expected (even if new to cycling, some aerobic fitness is expected fromother activities such as swimming, running, skiing, spinning, etc.)
  • Rides will be offered on Saturdays or Sundays and the frequency will be determined according to demand
Sweat (Intermediate); Now that you've mastered the basics, its time to ramp up the speed. A steadier pace for intermediate riders
  • Technical terrain and challenges depending on the location of the ride. Ride could exceed 2 hours but there will be opportunities to leave the trails system at some point for those who want a shorter ride. A few stops during the ride to regroup and refuel
  • Intended for experienced riders looking to further develop fitness and skills. Those rides will still be fun and there will be possibilities to practice skills on technically challenging terrain

Tears (Advanced); Yes... there will be a bit of pain with this one.... but that's what you want. A faster steady pace for fit and experienced riders

  • Intended for riders looking to further push their limits, racers, and those considering racing.

Our 2010 Program offers rides and events for Members of all levels and capabilities [see description below about our various Ride Levels.

At present, we are organizing the following Rides for our Club Members:

  • Monday Evening Training Ride [Road] - come and ride with the Race Team
  • Wednesday Evening Club Road Ride - open to all levels
  • Thursday Morning Hill Workout - time to get fit with a quick workout before breakfast
  • Thursday Evening MTB Ride in the Don Valley - discover this wonderland in the core of the city
  • Saturday Morning Road Ride - a spirited start to the weekend
  • Sunday Morning MTB Ride - venues change every week
  • Sunday Morning Road Ride - a more relaxed pace with stops for coffee and treats
